Weekly Training

On Monday night firefighters trained in mayday procedures. Firefighters went through the scenario of conducting a search in zero visibility. During that search a simulated roof collapse happened rendering the firefighter trapped. Firefighters then had to press the emergency identifier on their radio and give their L.U.N.A.R. report to command. LUNAR is a acronym firefighters use to notify other firefighters when they become trapped so they can get to the down firefighters location and help them. It stands for Location, Unit, Name, Assignment/Air Supply, and Resources needed.
