We say goodbye to Tac 68-1

February 2, 2023

Today we said goodbye to TAC 68-1. This mini pumper was purchased new in 2014 and ran out of the Mont Clare Station until 2020 when it was moved to the Oaks Station. This truck was very versatile and functional, capable of operating as a pumper, field piece, or water rescue support vehicle. Since the recent restructuring of fire services in UPT, we decided to take a look at our needs. While TAC 68-1 served our community well, it just wasn't getting used very much anymore.
This morning, a group from the Almaville Fire Co, led by Chief Neal Bailey, arrived in Oaks. They kicked some tires, pumped some water, and took the truck for a spin. After a few hours of inspection, the title was transferred, and TAC 68-1 was on the way to its new home near Smyrna, Tennessee. Special thanks to Bob from Fireline Equipment for brokering the sale.
